Handyman FAQ · Columbus, Ohio

Your Questions, Answered Honestly.

Everything Columbus homeowners ask before booking a handyman — pricing, scheduling, what we do, what we don't, and what to expect when we show up.

Pricing & Quotes

The most common questions about how we charge

We use flat project pricing, not hourly rates. Most single repairs range from $75–$350 depending on complexity. Before any work begins, you get a written quote for the full job. What we quote is what you pay — no surprise charges if the job takes longer.
By the project, always. We quote a flat price for the whole job upfront. You know exactly what you're paying before we start. No clock-watching, no hourly surprises.
Yes. Getting a quote costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We look at your job, give you a flat price, and let you decide. No pressure, no follow-up harassment.
TV mounting typically runs $75–$175 depending on wall type and whether you want wire concealment. Concrete or brick walls, or adding an in-wall wire channel, add to the cost. We give you an exact price before we start.
Small hole patches (under 6 inches) typically run $95–$175. Larger damage, water damage, or full sections run higher. We'll quote the job after seeing it — the size and texture complexity both affect price.
That's the entire point of flat pricing — you're not penalized for it. If we quoted you a price and the job takes longer, that's on us. The only time pricing changes is if the scope of work changes, and we always discuss that with you before proceeding.
Materials are itemized clearly in your quote. We source quality materials at fair prices and pass the actual cost to you — no markup games. If you want to supply your own materials, we can quote labor-only too.
Yes. We offer $50 off for first-time customers on jobs over $200, 10% off full-day bookings (6+ hours), and a free honey-do list assessment so we can quote your entire list at once.

When we can come and what to expect

Most jobs are scheduled within the same week, often next-day. For urgent situations, call us directly and we'll find our earliest opening — sometimes same-day depending on current schedule.
We work Monday through Saturday, 7am–6pm. For emergency situations outside those hours, call us — we do our best to accommodate urgent needs.
Yes — and we know you've heard that before. We confirm the evening before and call 30 minutes before arrival so you're not stuck waiting. If anything changes on our end, you hear from us immediately.

No problem. Just call or text us and we'll find the next available slot. We ask for at least a few hours notice when possible so we can fill the slot — but life happens and we understand.

Service-Specific Questions

Detailed answers about specific types of work

We use a professional stud finder to locate framing, select the right anchor hardware for your specific wall type (drywall, plaster, brick, or concrete), and test the mount before hanging your TV. We patch any pilot holes cleanly. For wire concealment, we route cables through the wall for a finished look.
Yes — invisible drywall repair is one of our core skills. We back the patch correctly, apply joint compound in multiple coats, sand smooth, match your existing wall texture (orange peel, knockdown, or smooth), and prime. You genuinely cannot tell anything was repaired.
Most leaky faucet repairs take 30–90 minutes. A full faucet replacement typically takes 1–2 hours including shutting off supply, removing the old unit, installing the new one, and testing. We bring common repair parts on the truck.
Sticking doors are caused by seasonal wood expansion, foundation settling, or loose/misaligned hinges. We diagnose the root cause — then fix it properly. That might mean adjusting hinges, shimming the frame, or light planing. We never just force-plane it down until it barely closes.
Yes. Crown molding installation in an existing room typically takes 3–5 hours for a standard 12x12 room. We handle all the cuts, cope the inside corners for tight joints, caulk and nail, and leave it ready to paint. We can source the molding profile or work with materials you supply.
Prep is the most important part and we don't skip it. We patch holes, sand rough spots, tape all trim and outlets, and apply primer where needed before paint goes on. We cover all furniture and floors with canvas drop cloths and clean up completely when we're done.
Yes — targeted deck board replacement is much more cost-effective than full replacement in many cases. We inspect the structure first and give you an honest assessment. If the framing is sound, we replace only the damaged boards and match the profile as closely as possible.
Yes. Garbage disposal installation and replacement is a common job for us. We remove the old unit, install the new one with proper mounting and drain connections, test for leaks, and dispose of the old unit. The whole job usually takes 60–90 minutes.
